Hey guys,
I received a new laptop as a grad. present (Yay for me), and wanted to bring my PC into work and retire the t-rex I am typing on right now. Wanted to know the best route to take if I wanted to wipe the entire hard drive, (except for the OS obviously) and basically start over with a naked computer.
Any and all advice on this is appreciated. It is an older HP (roughly 6 years) please let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Ryan

If you have the media to bring the system up from bare metal I'd download killdisk from here: http://www.killdisk.com. Download the free version and make a boot floppy. It will erase everything on the system and make it much harder and very expensive to recover anything.
Saving the OS while trying to wipe everything else could be much more time consuming.
